This was an in-class assignment in my Rhetoric class to challenge us to write from someone else's perspective.

An Astounding Vision
Today, I was inside my home, when I had this strange and bizarre futuristic vision. I was flying over the city, a greatly large city. This city was bigger than anything that I could even imagine. There were thousands, possibly millions of people. The buildings were one with the sky. I then landed outside this glass door with an enormously large apple on the outside. It looked like a satanic symbol, and I felt as though it had reminded me of something. Then, I connected the dots: it looked exactly how I imagined the apple from the Garden of Eden looked, after Eve took a bite. Why would someone put this logo on a building, I asked myself? I then reached out to open the door, but it opened for me! How crazy indeed!
Inside, were hundreds of little boxes with the same satanic looking symbol on the back of them, they kept glowing and making noises like a hummingbird. I looked around at the people in there, and as they were looking at the glowing, black boxes, I noticed that they already had their own, even the people who were purchasing them. Everyone in the store was staring at them, some people were holding them up to their ears, while others were using their fingers and moving them up and down on the surface of the box. I walked around and peered over people's shoulders (they could not see me, of course). As I was observing these curious black boxes, I saw that some people were looking at moving pictures! These pictures were as clear as day!
I looked over to the wall and saw a photograph, and it was a picture of the little black box. On the top of the photograph, it said: NEW IPHONE 16 PRO MAX. Obviously, I had no idea what this meant. The only word I recognized was the word new. As I continued to observe, I noticed that people seemed to be talking to other people through these black boxes. The lady with her box to her ear was talking to someone about what to make for dinner. I was dumbfounded. How is it even possible for someone to have the ability to communicate to someone through a black box? I just do not understand, but I thought about how convenient it would be to be able to reach people through a device. This led me to wonder, this led me to think. What if it is possible? What if?
Note: Everyone seemed dressed like foreigners and appeared to be unable to interact with each other.
