Nature Haiku

I look left and right
Both life and death surround me
Limbs twisted, a noose
Trees as old as time
Stumbling roots like a gnarled hand
Nature groans with age
A branch sways slowly
It wavers now in the wind
Holds life as it dies
I see him moving
Silently weaving his web
Yes, ready to kill
A gust breaks the web
Gone is its inhabitant
Dead? Perhaps he is
Broken limbs lay there
Screaming to disintegrate
I think I hear them
Insects fall quickly
Murky water is their grave
Nature forgives not
Oh, those red berries
Once a popular weapon
Abused by humans
Moss covers the ground
Hiding the death beneath it
Nature is brutal
