Workplace Violence: Look Up Lodge Christian Camp
Purpose
Look Up Lodge is a Christ-centered camp committed to maintaining a safe and respectful environment for all of its employees, volunteers, guests, and campers. The purpose of this particular policy is to prevent violence in the workplace, in addition to ensuring that all members belonging to our camp community are aware of the expectations as well as the consequences related to violent behavior.
Definition of Workplace Violence
Workplace violence includes, but is not limited to:
-Physical assault or battery
-Behavior that is threatening and/or intimidating
-Harrassment, verbal abuse, and bullying
-Possession or use of weapons on the camp's property
-Any act that creates fear in others
-Any act that creates a risk of injury to others
Policy Statement
Look Up Lodge has zero tolerance for workplace violence of any kind. There will be no toleration of acts of violence and/or threats of violence under any circumstances. Our mission is to create a safe and spiritually nurturing environment that is welcoming to all employees, volunteers, and guests. Employees, volunteers, and guests are expected to treat one another with love, respect, and dignity in accord with the teachings of Scripture (Romans 12:17-21, Matthew 5:9).
Reporting Procedures
Any employees, volunteers, and/or campers who either witness or experience workplace violence must report the incident immediately and without hesitation to their counselor, executive director, or camp director. Reports will be investigated promptly, remain confidential, and be treated with the utmost severity.
Consequences
Violations of this policy will result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment or volunteer service. Violators will be removed from all camp programs, and a referral to law enforcement authorities will occur. All individuals are expected to comply with and cooperate with this policy in any investigations.
Commitment to Prevention
Look Up Lodge is committed to the prevention of workplace violence through the training of our staff and clear communication. In addition, fostering a respectful and supportive environment remains consistent without Christian values. The responsibility for maintaining a safe workplace falls to all employees and volunteers of Look Up Lodge. Employees and volunteers are heavily encouraged to promote peace, understanding, and reconciliation in all and every interaction.
